State Camp 2009

Dear members, many apologies for the delayed post. Here it is, state camp 2009 held @ Kuala Selangor.

State Cadet Camp 2009

Date : 17th - 21st December 2009
Venue : SMK Sultan Abdul Aziz, Kuala Selangor

DAY 1

Fellow participants gathered at the school. First, we had registration, followed by a short briefing. Then, it was time for us to pitch our tents. After successfully pitching our tents under the blazing noon sun, we had lunch and followed by ice breaking games. We were divided into teams of different countries around the world. :) Our first activity was to paint our group's flag using only materials that were given. After cleaning up, we had opening ceremony. Once the ceremony was over, we had free time to bath and then it was dinner! After dinner, it was our very first course (Knowledge of The Order). As the course ended, we had supper and that wrapped up our first day of camp. :)

Our very own members at the campsite. :)

DAY 2

We gathered at the tapak at 7 and had our morning exercise. A Qi Gong master was brought to teach us QiGong. We had breakfast after that. Then, it was our first examination of the 5 days camp, which was the Knowledge of The Order. It was a written test. Once we were done with the exam, we attended a course on Care in The Community. It was presented by a nurse on Denggue Fever and H1N1. :) Lunch was next. We were supposed to self cook but due to unfortunate event (the rain!) we got to use the stove they had, to cook. Lunch took quite a long time because groups had to take turns to use the stove. It was still pouring when we had to attend the next course - Fire Fighting and Prevention. This talk was given by a fire fighter. After the course, it was time for some activities! We were brought to Bukit Malawati. :) There's a lighthouse up on the hill. Not to mention, we were greeted by monkeys! xD

Du Division members taking a picture with the lighthouse. :)

A group picture. Say "DU DIVISION!" :D

Another "family" photo. :)

One more, but missing a few "family" members.

With Mdm Eng :)

Form 4 (2010) members. :)

We jogged all the way down the hill back to school when it was time to go back to the school. We had time to bath and then it was time for dinner. After dinner, we sat for two tests. (Care in The Community & Fire Fighting and Prevention). Then it was followed by supper and day 2 ended.

DAY 3
We had morning exercise in the morning then breakfast was served. Then, we attended a course - Fitness. After the course, we had to self cook again. After eating lunch that was cooked by ourselves, we had another course (Administration Skills). Once the course was over, we had a telematch! It was full of fun-filled games! After the tiring telematch, we had dinner and then sat for 2 tests (Fitness & Administration Skills). Had supper and that wrapped up day 3.

DAY 4
Everyone rise and shine at 7 in the morning. We had morning exercise again. Then it was breakfast and followed by our last course of the 5 days long camp - Home Skills. Lunch was self cooking again. After lunch, we sat for our last tests and it was time for games! We had station games and it was really really fun! :) After using up all our strengths in the games, it was time to recharge! Yes, it was dinner time! After dinner, it was campfire night!

The scenery was really really beautiful that night. :) While we were having our campfire, many stars in the sky accompanied us. :)

Our camp commander lighting the campfire. The campfire was really pretty!

Our division represented KSTU in performing a dance to JaiHo!

DAY 5

It was the last day of camp. We had the usual morning exercise in the morning, followed by breakfast and closing ceremony. Prizes were also given out, e.g best group leader, best group etc.
KSTU won second place in campfire performance. :) Once closing ceremony was over, we broke our tents and it was finally time to go home..

All in all, it was a good experience, and dear fellow members, do enrol yourself in the next state camp! :):) You definitely wouldn't regret. :)
