Our teams managed to bag the following segments:

Cadet Nursing
- 1st for Foot Drill
- 2nd for Home Nursing
- 3rd for Short Case

They are going to represent our area, KSTU in the upcoming State First Aid and Home Nursing Competition.

We would like to express our deepest congratulations to our teams.

GRAND PRIOR (what?)

so.... since state camp has just ended.... i've decided to make a post bout GPs :D

thats the GRAND PRIOR.... yes.... this -
(homg... its SOOO cooool) <------- YOU

so as state commander Sir Yeo Kim Thong said.... Selangor is currently the state with the highest number of GP holders... (wohoooooo).

so why dont we be the division with the highest number of GP holders in KSTU?!!! =D

right... so i need YOU.... (yes.... YOU) to help us out! :D

to be a GP holder... u are required to have 12 cadet proficiency badges! and u will need to go to state camp AT LEAST 3 times.....

NOW... an important note.... even tho we sit for 6 badges every year..... if u pass 5 or 6 in that year, only 4 is officially registered. or something like that.

all u have to know is only a max of 4 are officially accounted for the GP in one state camp. (even if u've passed all 6 its still 4)

therefore, u need to pass at least 4 every year for 3 years to obtain a GP. if u only pass 3 on 1 year.... u'll need to go another year extra, which will be 4 years in total to get the badge.

so once you obtain your 12 badges..... THEN you'll be able to apply for GP. :D

so form 2s and form 3s who've gone to state camp b4 TAKE NOTE!!!

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and form 1s.... yes.... the badge is awesome.... why wouldn't u want to get it?! ;D

so guys... its time u make up ur mind to aim for a GP!

why?

cause u'll be AWESOME. :D

How You Doing?

whats upppp! its been.... erm..... ...... 2 DAYS! since STATE CAMP!!! (yay!) Doesnt home just feel awesome right now? LOL. ahhhh warm showers...... yummy....

right... I'm pretty sure every1's missing it already right?? ( i know i haven't......) AHAHAAHAHAH just kidding >P =X

anyways....
State camp was a awesome experience!! everyone had their ups... and their downs... but in the end, we still made thro it all smelling like cows =D (yay us!)

Here's a list of highlights for camp if u missed it (or u suffer from short term memory lost)
  1. meeting our group members! (come on.... they weren't THAT bad....)
  2. drawing the group flag and creating a cheer!
  3. 2 hours of stoning!!! =D
  4. studying The Order of St John (helllllllll yeaaaaaaaah... you know it was kick ass!)
  5. watching kar keong and shawn hump. (yes... it happened)
  6. awesome food! (tho lacking alot of it)
  7. SHOWER HEADS IN THE TOILETS
  8. cursing when the water died.
  9. obstacle course
  10. cursing when the water died after the obstacle course
  11. water crossing
  12. jungle trekking
  13. watching grace whine and cry bout the leeches. ahahahahahaha..... classic.
  14. backwoods (fried chicken!)
  15. sheltering from the rain in the canteen
  16. discovering our luggage were 50% made from water after the rain =D!!!
  17. CAMP FIRE NIGHT!!!!!!!
  18. area performances!
  19. closing ceremony x)
  20. LAST OF ALL.... DU's crap talking in canteen every night!! (we should have this for division camp)
MY main highlight was campfire night! the committee made this huge fireball which was almost identical to ours. but that was only the start! THEN.... came the area performances!!

For those who dont know.... this is the part where each area had to go on stage and perform for every1. As Sir Manimaran said.. this year's performances was probably the BEST TO DATE!!!! (saaaaaaay whaaaaaaat??!!! :O)

and MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL..... KSTU(that's us) FRIGGING WONNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *cue awesome music* YEAH!!!

And yes..... i know, i know... tho it was seaport's presentation, but still...... cmon on guys.... it's still KSTU!! so drinks all around!!!! :D

we had this hilarious skit...... whereas the second and third placers (KSS and KPS) did a number of dances. so yeah...... *PWNED*

anyways... now to the badges....
so this year we had 6 badges as usual... which was...
  • the Knowledge of the Order
  • Caring For the Sick

  • Personal Survival & Life Saving

  • Crafts

  • Signaling

  • Cookery and Nutrition

yes i know!!! Crafts looks awesome right??!! lol.... anyways every1's gotta pass ALL SIX BADGES!!!! OKAY???!!!!!! OR WE'LL RIP U TO PIECES!!!!! no pressure. lol

Lastly.... i'm pretty sure that all of us who went to camp shares this..... but when i was in camp.... i was always looking forward to when all the DU peeps could gather together....
this made me realise how much i appreciate our division and for its awesomeness.... so yeah.... no1 forget that right??!!!

so thats bout it!!! comment on
  1. what i've miss in this post...... if any... :D
  2. YOUR main highlight
  3. what you've missed bout camp
RIGHT..... there'll be more updates for camp with pics (yay) and others... so keep checking back guys.... :D

THATS IT... buh bye for now. x)

talked crap,
Isaac

*PS : drink milk ;)*

& here's a nice picture of our precious trophy:

We would like to thank you guys, yes YOU guys for cooperating with the BOD of 2009/2010.
Thank you all for your support and hardwork!

***
Next, we have few awesome upcoming events and we would really appreciate if you guys can join and support us!

- State Cadet Camp 2010
Details: 15-19 December 2010.
@ Bukit Lagong, Batu Caves, Selangor!

I'm really happy when 20++ members signed up for this camp!
For your information, State Cadet Camp is an Annual Cadet activity participated by cadets from different divisions in Selangor. You will learn new skills, skills that won't be attained from weekly divisional meetings and earn probadges for them!

Those colourful badges are called proficiency badges. In State Cadet Camp, you will go for courses and take 6 tests (if you signed up for 6 courses). If you passed for all 6 tests, you will get 6 proficiency badges.

You see the black colour badge at the top? That is the Grand Prior badge.
How do I gain that badge?
Here's the thing, you will have to go for min 3 State Camps and pass at least 4 badges everytime.
When you reach 12 badges, you can apply for Grand Prior. It's really a big deal if you succeed in applying for GP. =)

To those who have already signed up for State camp, visit this blog frequently for more updates on camp! And please read up the Knowledge of the Order. If you don't have the material, read this. The Knowledge of the Order is a knowledge that every St John member should know by heart. So please read up. ;)

Well members, work hard and you will succeed!

We will try our best to update our blog frequently since exams are over!
Do visit this blog frequently.

Here's loads of pictures of afternoon sessions' last meeting. ENJOY!

with much love,
BOD of 10/11.

Blood Drive!

Only about 5% of the people give blood. Many people do not give blood, because they are afraid of needles or think it will be painful. Others fear that they may get AIDS by donating blood. Some don’t want to take the time and effort required to give blood.

But, please keep in mind that:

EVERY DROP COUNTS

The St. John Ambulance Malaysia (SJAM) from SMK Damansara Utama is taking action to save lives! SJAM from Damansara Utama Division will be holding a blood drive in Tropicana City Mall to help those in need.

September 12, 2010

10am – 5pm

Tropicana City Mall

First Floor (Opposite Kiku Zakura)

Are you needed as a blood donor?

The answer is yes!

When there is not enough blood, patients wait for hours for the blood they need, delaying their recovery. They might even lose their dear life.

A unit of blood is needed every three seconds! However, the resource of blood is always in shortage. What are you waiting for? You can give the extraordinary gift of life.

~

By being a donor yourself and encouraging others to give, you can be the difference between life and death for as many as 3 people.

For further information please contact Grace Lim (017-3667117 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 017-3667117 end_of_the_skype_highlighting ) or Isaac Lim (012-2199027).

Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something.

Donor Requirements:

1. Ranging from age 17 to 60

2. Must be at least 45kg

3. Be in good general health with no history of hepatitis or HIV / AIDS

4. At least 6 hours of sleep on the day before.

5. Free from chronic, infectious diseases.

6. Previous blood donation must be more than 3 months ago.

7. Have not gone through major operation for the past 1 year.

8. Have not gotten malaria for the past 3 years.

9. Have not practice unsafe sex.

10. Have not shared the same needles with others.

11. Have not consumed alcohol the day before.

12. Have never tested positive for HIV.

13. Have not had sex with the partners of the same sex even once.

14. Do not have hemophilia or another blood clotting disorder and received clotting factor concentrate.

15. Have not been held in a correctional facility (including jails, prisons and/ or detention centers) for more than 72 hours in the last 12 months.

Please help us spread the word by forwarding this e-mail to your family & friends! Also publicize this on your webpage/blog etc. Thank you.

It’s easy to make a buck. It’s a lot tougher to make a difference. ~ Tom Brokaw

So guys, spread the word! To your family, friends, relatives. Save a life! you guys would not regret it.
