Report : Area First Aid and Home Nursing Competition 2009

Our division sent one Nursing Cadet Team:

• Cadet Private Liew Ai Vee
• Cadet Private Ong Xin Xiang
• Cadet Private Lee Hsu Zen
• Cadet Private Lim Hui Ying
• Cadet Private Tan Hong Ling

Out of the many supporters that signed up, the division is very disappointed to say that only four turned up in the end.

A few of our Seniors (Yi Theng, Xin Wen, Yien Hsiu and Eilyn) turned up to show some moral support to the team as well!

We boarded the bus and left for SMK Kepong. We were the earliest to arrive.

So we spent the time revising some First Aid with the team.

Getting ready

Finally, at about 8.00 am, everyone gathered in the Main Hall for a debriefing. After that, the competition finally began.

The checking of Uniforms was first and was conducted by Puan Mei Mee Ling; Attending Area Superintendent (Nursing).

Next up, was the Foot Drill session. Unfortunately, there are no pictures available.

Then, they were sent to complete the Home Nursing segment.

Finally, the team completed the final task; Short Case.
The casualty had an Open Fracture on his left arm and a Laceration on his right knee.

Finally, everyone gathered in the Main Hall for the Closing Ceremony.

Our team emerged as the Overall Champions for the Nursing Cadet Category and will be representing our Area, Kawasan Selangor Tengah Utara in the upcoming State First Aid and Home Nursing Competition that we be held on 31 May 2009. The team is training hard and will need your constant support. They can't do it without you! So give them all the support you can give :) Hopefully, we'll be able to bring something back and make our AREA proud!

We enjoyed an elating bus-ride home and that was that!
