We would like to thank you guys, yes YOU guys for cooperating with the BOD of 2009/2010.
Thank you all for your support and hardwork!

Next, we have few awesome upcoming events and we would really appreciate if you guys can join and support us!

- State Cadet Camp 2010
Details: 15-19 December 2010.
@ Bukit Lagong, Batu Caves, Selangor!

I'm really happy when 20++ members signed up for this camp!
For your information, State Cadet Camp is an Annual Cadet activity participated by cadets from different divisions in Selangor. You will learn new skills, skills that won't be attained from weekly divisional meetings and earn probadges for them!

Those colourful badges are called proficiency badges. In State Cadet Camp, you will go for courses and take 6 tests (if you signed up for 6 courses). If you passed for all 6 tests, you will get 6 proficiency badges.

You see the black colour badge at the top? That is the Grand Prior badge.
How do I gain that badge?
Here's the thing, you will have to go for min 3 State Camps and pass at least 4 badges everytime.
When you reach 12 badges, you can apply for Grand Prior. It's really a big deal if you succeed in applying for GP. =)

To those who have already signed up for State camp, visit this blog frequently for more updates on camp! And please read up the Knowledge of the Order. If you don't have the material, read this. The Knowledge of the Order is a knowledge that every St John member should know by heart. So please read up. ;)

Well members, work hard and you will succeed!

We will try our best to update our blog frequently since exams are over!
Do visit this blog frequently.

Here's loads of pictures of afternoon sessions' last meeting. ENJOY!

with much love,
BOD of 10/11.

Blood Drive!

Only about 5% of the people give blood. Many people do not give blood, because they are afraid of needles or think it will be painful. Others fear that they may get AIDS by donating blood. Some don’t want to take the time and effort required to give blood.

But, please keep in mind that:

EVERY DROP COUNTS

The St. John Ambulance Malaysia (SJAM) from SMK Damansara Utama is taking action to save lives! SJAM from Damansara Utama Division will be holding a blood drive in Tropicana City Mall to help those in need.

September 12, 2010

10am – 5pm

Tropicana City Mall

First Floor (Opposite Kiku Zakura)

Are you needed as a blood donor?

The answer is yes!

When there is not enough blood, patients wait for hours for the blood they need, delaying their recovery. They might even lose their dear life.

A unit of blood is needed every three seconds! However, the resource of blood is always in shortage. What are you waiting for? You can give the extraordinary gift of life.

~

By being a donor yourself and encouraging others to give, you can be the difference between life and death for as many as 3 people.

For further information please contact Grace Lim (017-3667117 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 017-3667117 end_of_the_skype_highlighting ) or Isaac Lim (012-2199027).

Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something.

Donor Requirements:

1. Ranging from age 17 to 60

2. Must be at least 45kg

3. Be in good general health with no history of hepatitis or HIV / AIDS

4. At least 6 hours of sleep on the day before.

5. Free from chronic, infectious diseases.

6. Previous blood donation must be more than 3 months ago.

7. Have not gone through major operation for the past 1 year.

8. Have not gotten malaria for the past 3 years.

9. Have not practice unsafe sex.

10. Have not shared the same needles with others.

11. Have not consumed alcohol the day before.

12. Have never tested positive for HIV.

13. Have not had sex with the partners of the same sex even once.

14. Do not have hemophilia or another blood clotting disorder and received clotting factor concentrate.

15. Have not been held in a correctional facility (including jails, prisons and/ or detention centers) for more than 72 hours in the last 12 months.

Please help us spread the word by forwarding this e-mail to your family & friends! Also publicize this on your webpage/blog etc. Thank you.

It’s easy to make a buck. It’s a lot tougher to make a difference. ~ Tom Brokaw

Day 1, 16th April 2010

Right after the afternoon session students were dismissed at 6.45 p.m. Campers started coming in to register to get their name tags and dinner.

this year, we did not use colour papers for the camper's name tags, instead we used colour strings instead! thanks to our camp secretary and treasurer (Sophie & Lee Xue Er) for handling the camp registration!

one of the campers registering to get their name tags.

All of the campers placed all of their luggage in the canteen and gathered at the Assembly ground, all of them got into their own squads. They were all briefed on the Rules and Regulation that was printed at the back of their nametags.

After briefing, all of the campers shifted their luggage to the luggage room!

Then it was tent pitching time!

Squad Introductions was next!

All of the squads had awesome and creative cheers.
Good job to all SLs and ASLs.

Our beloved Ex-BOD 08/09

Right after the introductions by all squads, it was time for our first game for the night!

MARTIANS INVADE ROCKET BASE!

it's a much more different game than the usual 'Operasi Burung Hantu' or any other game, hopefully the members enjoyed it.

Ofcourse, you'd be wondering what will the other squads be doing while this squad's playing this awesome game.

ICE-BREAKERS! led by Daniel Devan!

After the games, all of the squads gathered at the Multipurpose court and had their Supper which was prepared by our beloved QMs.

Hot Vico and Biscuits.
