National Mass CPR and Blood Donation Drive
What if one day, a member of your family falls unconscious?
Would you know what to do?
Would you be able to help?
Never bothered to learn up some basic resuscitation procedures?
Don't fret.

Never bothered to learn up some basic resuscitation procedures?
Don't fret.
In conjunction with our 100 years of being in Malaysia, St John Ambulance Malaysia is organizing mass CPR sessions and blood donation drives at national level.
We, St John Ambulance Malaysia will be holding CPR classes (90 minute sessions) every half hour - absolutely free of charge! These sessions will be held all around Malaysia simultaneously.

Kawasan Selangor Tengah Utara (KSTU) will be doing our part, as well! Details are as follows.
Day: Sunday
Date: 30 November 2008
Time: 10.30am-7.30pm
Venue: Ground Floor, Rainforest, 1 Utama
Interested?
Well, here's what you have to do. It's really very simple.
2. Pre-register yourself via email (sjamkstu_sheryn@yahoo.com) or
call Miss Sheryn (012-2333522) or Miss Mei (012-6302384) to book your time slot.
3. Head on down to 1 Utama in time for your session!
For those of you who are already qualified first aid members, do spread the word! Tell your friends and family, so they too will be prepared to face minor medical emergencies.
But the good news hardly stops there.
Come and do your part for those in need at our Blood Donation Drive.
Day: Saturday and Sunday
Date: 29 and 30 November 2008
Time: 10.30am-5.00pm
Venue: Ground Floor, Rainforest, 1 Utama

A drop of blood saves a life.
But wait, there's more.
Blood donation not your kind of thing?
Sign up to be an organ donor instead.
National organ donor registration forms will be available for those who are interested!
Do your part and spread the word.

Report: Blood Drive Duty @ Subang Parade
On duty today were:
DU was the only division whose members were involved in this duty. (Yay!)
After a slight delay due to transport complications, we were at Subang Parade from about 10.00 am - 6.00 pm. Public response was initially rather discouraging, but business picked up after lunchtime and peaked at about 4.00pm, just as the Blood Bank staff were about to call it a day.

All in all, it was a relatively good duty because all/some/one of us:
Note:
Promotional work for this Blood Donation Drive was done yesterday by Yi Jean, Sunshine, Xin Xiang, Ai Vee, Joyce, Mau Vern, Aaron, Derek, Elisha, and Kar Tong. They distributed flyers to the public the whole morning, until 2pm.

All in all, it was a relatively good duty because all/some/one of us:
- Found out how blood and organ donation works
- Was the first Cadet member of Form 1 (2008) to go for duty (Well done, Zhan Meng!)
- Earned ±9 more duty hours
- Spent post-PMR freedom contributing to a noble cause
- Enjoyed the company of old and new friends
- Had a McD's ice-cream, KFC, Big Apple Donuts, or four bowls of mushroom soup

In the beginning...
A blog was created.*
This, however, was no ordinary blog. It was the unofficial website of Damansara Utama Division, St. John Ambulance Malaysia.
Now all you members out there have no excuse not to keep in touch, meetings or not, holidays or not! Ha!
Stay tuned ;)

*Another blog, actually. The wordpress one didn't quite work out as planned.
